Drug and alcohol addiction responds well to cognitive behavioral therapy. This approach is a form of behavioral treatment. You would typically undergo CBT in one-on-one sessions with an addiction counselor. At the heart of this treatment is the understanding that there’s dysfunction in your life. A therapist helps you to pinpoint it. Areas of examination include your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Because they each affect one another, it only takes one domain of dysfunction to cause problems.

Family sessions are geared towards education about addition as a disease and helping family learn ways to take better care for themselves, communicate more effectively as a family unit, and learn new ways to support those that they love and care for so deeply. The pain and confusion experienced in families around addiction can be ongoing into recovery. Most often, addiction affects a family’s way of coping with life in general, not just the addiction. The family, friends, or loved ones need support and understanding of their own so that they can learn to let their own lives thrive again.
Substance Use Assessments
We provide high quality evidenced based assessments for many purposes. Our Masters level clinicians can complete a full clinical evaluation and complete standardized assessment tools for you. These are generally not covered by insurance, so you would speak to our staff about pricing and setting an appointment.
Referrals and Case Management
We recognize that we may not be the best fit for you or that you may need outside professional help to address other matters that are very important and necessary to your recovery. As a team we will help you find the resources you need and assist in referrals and communication with other health professionals to make the process smoother and more open so that our clients get the most out of all their clinical teams as possible.
If you wish, we will communicate and assist you with reports to probation officers, attorneys, psychiatrists, and other mental health providers as well as medical personnel to help you communicate your needs, progress, or make plans for your ongoing recovery.
